Day 1 of Mercedes Benz Fashion Week.
I Love it when there are only a few collections to view-Themes just throw up all over ya. Day 1 in NY has proved to be very...uninspired. I know, I know, it happens every season (Case in point, the 1995 documentary film "Unzipped" starring Isaac Mizrahi), but I still haven't been able to pin point exactly WHY every designer has the same idea at the same time...
ANYWAY, for those of you interested in what the trends for spring will be, Drum roll please....
ORANGE. COLOR BLOCKING. SHEER OVERLAYS. OLD PEOPLE SHORTS & BERMUDA PRINTS.
Sounds delightful, yes?
I sure as hell hope you think so, cause according to Day 1, that's all you're gonna get. Here's what went down...

WHO IS
My Winner of the Day?
Gary Graham.
This collection was still subject to the gnarly grip of tangerine, but it was done in a way that was distinctly different from the rest. I thought the fabric textures, shapes, and killer knee high socks (Im a sucker for some knee highs) actually made this collection seem fresh and new.
Hooray, Gary Graham!
I'm very much hoping that tomorrow yields some stuff not so so blatantly in line.
We shall see....
